EACL 2024: The 18th Conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics
Underline Science is delighted to announce the 18th Conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL), set to take place both in-person in the scenic locale of Malta, from March 17 to 22, 2024, and virtually via our engaging platform. EACL 2024 connects and encourages discussion between European and international researchers. Whether you are already a member of the computational linguistics community or just want to explore the breakthroughs of this exciting field, EACL 2024 is not to be missed.
The European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL)
The European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL) has been advancing the field of computational linguistics, not just within Europe but far beyond. As one of the most important associations in the field, EACL encourages the development of computational approaches to the study and processing of natural language, enabling research, innovation, and collaboration between scholars, practitioners, and industry professionals.
Five days of innovation in language processing
EACL 2024 will offer a rich program spanning five days and presenting the latest developments in computational linguistics. The first three days include oral presentations, posters, and demos. The conference agenda also includes two keynote talks, a Best Paper Award session, as well as a talk by Dr. Hongning Wang, the recipient of this year's Karen Spärck Jones Award. The final two days are dedicated to tutorials and workshops.
Two distinguished keynote speakers
Be prepared to witness amazing discussions at EACL 2024, led by two distinguished invited speakers in computational linguistics.
- Prof. Hinrich Schütze from LMU Munich will discuss the intricacies of sourcing quality data for large language models: quality data for training a highly multilingual language model and quality data for instruction tuning.
- Prof. Mirella Lapata from the University of Edinburgh will re-evaluate the current trends in NLP, emphasizing the indispensable role of structured approaches and representations in the face of burgeoning generative AI models and prompting.
Your 'invi-text-tion' to EACL 2024
